TISDALE — A new business coming to Tisdale combines escape rooms with virtual reality.
Christie Sharp, local business owner, is providing the community of Tisdale and area with a new fun activity that is sure to entertain. Sharp Games will be located 1013 – 100th Street in the old RWB Communications building.
Sharp explained that people can go online and pick an escape room they'd like to play. Themes include space, dragons, underwater, and an old west railroad.
“You have to pay for at least two players to book (the rest of your group can pay when they arrive). Then once you arrive for your adventure you will be given a Meta Quest headset and plunged into a virtual reality world. You will be able to see each of the players in your group and you will work together to solve the puzzles to beat the game.”
Each room takes 45 minutes, but Sharp said to allow an hour for your visit. One important thing to note, when you are in the VR world, no one from the public will be able to see your group. The escape room is behind a closed door with only your group and my manager. This is to help anyone who felt/will feel uncomfortable with anyone seeing them with the headset on while in the game Sharp explained.
Christie Sharp, who is originally from Swan River, has lived in Tisdale since 2015. Her husband Ron owns Sharp Refrigeration and she already owns and operates Sharp Cabinets Designs & Sales so the new name for her new business was naturally Sharp Games.
Sharp had been contemplating the idea of this new venture and wanted to provide some entertainment for Tisdale after the COVID pandemic. Sharp said parents are always running with their kids to sports, dance, playgrounds, playdates, day camps, etc. and felt this would provide some much-needed fun for teenagers and adults. This activity provides a great date night, group activity with friends or family and work team building parties.
Sharp hopes to open in the beginning of June.
