Nerlien nominated as Sask. Party candidate for Kelvington-Wadena

Hugh Nerlien will represent the Sask. Party in Kelvington-Wadena in the 2024 provincial election.

PORCUPINE PLAIN — Hugh Nerlien was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party candidate for Kelvington-Wadena in the 2024 provincial election.

“It’s an honour to be acclaimed by Saskatchewan Party members in our constituency,” Nerlien said. “Representing Kelvington-Wadena since 2016 has been a true privilege and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to be your voice in the legislative assembly.”

Nerlien was first elected in the 2016 provincial election and was re-elected in 2020. He has served as deputy caucus chair as well as legislative secretary to the minister responsible for SaskTel and the minister responsible for public sector bargaining. In addition, Nerlien has worked on several legislative committees and is currently a member of public accounts as well as the standing committee on human services.

Before entering politics, Nerlien was the owner/operator of Dragonfly Holdings Ltd. in Porcupine Plain. In addition, he has extensive corporate experience in banking, corporate restructuring and financial management. Nerlien has held a number of volunteer roles, including serving as a former president of the Canadian Crime Stoppers Association, Porcupine Plain Economic Development Committee, and as a board member for Porcupine Credit Union.

Nerlien and his wife Giselle currently live in the constituency, and have three adult children.
