BJORKDALE — The Little Valley Playschool will be hosting their annual trade fair on Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Bjorkdale Hall.
Any vendors wishing to book a table can contact Nicole Goldsworthy at 306-852-9585. The Bjorkdale Minor Hockey Association will be running the food booth again this year. Come out and support the playschool and the Bjorkdale Minor Hockey Association.
The Village of Bjorkdale will be collecting garden refuse and branches until the end of October every Monday morning. Residents are asked to have their garden refuse by the street early to ensure pick up.
The Bjorkdale School will honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 29. The occasion, also known as Orange Shirt Day, is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools and promote the concept of “Every Child Matters.” The orange shirt is a symbol of stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by indigenous children over generations.
The Bjorkdale School will also be hosting sessions on truth and reconciliation activities on Wednesday, Sept. 27 afternoon. The annual Terry Fox Run will also be on Friday.
The Village only accepts household garbage in bags which are picked up every Tuesday. If there is a larger item left out, you must purchase a tag in order for the larger item to be picked up and taken to the Landfill. Applicable fees will be charged dependent on the type of item and its weight. Please purchase at the Village office. Thank you for your help in this matter.
The Village of Bjorkdale recently re-paved Railway Avenue and have installed weight restriction signs. Please abide by all weight restrictions signs and to help us keep the pavement in good condition.
