The death of Mr. William "Neil" Gordon of Humboldt, SK, (and formerly of Saskatoon, SK), occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. He was 88 years of age. Neil was born on February 13, 1924, to William Charles and Annie Pearl (nee Rogers) Gordon at Snowden, SK. He grew up there and attended Snowden School. When he was 17 years of age, Neil enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces and served in the Second World War. On July 29, 1943, he married Norma Smith in Regina, SK. Three children, two sons and a daughter, were born to them. Neil began working as an engineer with Canadian Pacific Railroad, a career that spanned 44 years. He was very involved in the church and served as Deacon at the Baptist Church in Regina. In September 1990, Norma passed away. Neil married Freda (nee Logie) in May 1992 at the Nutana Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in Saskatoon. They moved into Caleb Village in Humboldt in 2011. Over the years, Neil had resided in various places in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. His favorite leisure activities were fishing, spending summers at his cabin at Aquadeo where he enjoyed nature and watching the birds, playing cards, and going to the race track. Neil is survived by his wife of almost 21 years, Freda (nee Logie) Gordon; his three children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren: Angus (Lyn) Gordon and family, Traci Gordon and Neil Gordon; Cameron Gordon and family, Khris Gordon, Bonnie Gordon, and Jeananne Lindstrom and children, Cameron, Shirley and Francis; and Heather (Mark) Moulds and family, Darlene (Cory) Popoff and children Lisa and Rachel, and Darren (Selina) Moulds and children William and Sarah; three sisters: Lucille Wilkie, Norma (Doug) Youngren, and Edith (Frank) Dean; brother-in-law, Doug Smith; and by sister-in-law, Rose Gordon. He was predeceased by his first wife, Norma (nee Smith) Gordon; one grandson, Scott Gordon; parents, William Charles and Annie Pearl (nee Rogers) Gordon; four brothers and two sisters: Walter Gordon, Art Gordon, Alex Gordon, Jim Gordon, Vivian Raymond, and Violet Irvin; and by numerous in-laws. On the evening of Wednesday, February 13, 2013, the day after Neil's death, his sister Mae Dobson also passed away. In honor of Neil's wishes, there will not be a Funeral Service. He will be laid to rest in the Veterans' Section of Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, at a later date. Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK.
