It is with deep sorrow that the family of Mr. Wei Long Zhang of Watson, SK, announces his death at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, SK, on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was 40 years of age. Wei Long was born to Tian Ji Zhang and Dong Mei Ma on March 6, 1973, in Luo Yang, Henan Province, China. He attained all his education in China, which included college to take a welding course. On April 30, 1996, Wei Long married Xue Ying "Tracy" Fan and they were blessed with a daughter, Xin Yi "Bing Bing" Zhang on October 23, 1998. The family immigrated to Canada in 2008 and initially resided in Englefeld, SK, where Wei Long was employed at Schulte Industries. They moved to Watson in 2011. In his leisure time, Wei Long enjoyed reading and listening to music. His greatest passion was his family; he was a loving husband, father, son and brother. Wei Long will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 17 years, Xue Ying "Tracy" Fan of Watson; their daughter, Xin Yi "Bing Bing" Zhang of Watson; his mother, Dong Mei Ma of China; and his brother, Wei Bo Zhang of China. He was predeceased by his father, Tian Ji Zhang. The Funeral Service was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Watson, on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Master of Ceremonies was Trevor Kowalski, and words of remembrance were given by Wei Long's brother, Wei Bo Zhang, his friend, Jin Fa Tan, and his friend James Webster. Pallbearers were Wei Bo Zhang, Bing Liang, Jin Fa Tan, and James Webster. Memorial donations may be directed to either the Xin Yi "Bing Bing" Zhang Trust Fund (c/o Affinity Credit Union, Watson or Englefeld Branches) or the Canadian Cancer Society.
