Hoffman, Stanley Earle

Passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Pioneers Lodge in Moose Jaw, SK with family by his side. Stan, at age 89 was predeceased by his son Murray. Loving father of Brent (Tina) and Brenda Goulet (Rick), cherished grandfather of Jaimey Dawson, Andre Goulet, Katie Goulet, Matthew (Angela) Hoffman, Rebecca Hoffman and Rachael Hoffman. Stanley will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Grant (Elizabeth) and Warren (Evelyn) Hoffman and many nieces, nephews and friends. Stan was born to Andy and Alma Hoffman on March 8, 1924 in Drumheller, AB. As an infant, the family moved to the Humboldt to start a family farm. Stan grew up attending school in the Humboldt area. During the war, he moved to Ontario to work in the Bush Camps for the war effort. Following WWII, he returned to Saskatchewan and lived in a few places as a grain buyer before settling in Moose Jaw and raising his family. He worked at the Co-op in the hardware department. He retired at the age of 55. Stan was a musician and expressed his music using several instruments, playing at many of the dances and events in and around Moose Jaw. He loved nature and taking country drives in the fall, which served as an inspiration for his numerous poems and reflections on life. He was handy, and was often found tinkering and fixing things at home fabricating parts when none were to be found. He had many good times and friends at his suite at Victoria Towers until health concerns led to a move to Pioneers Village in April of 2013. A memorial tea was held at The Heritage Inn in Moose Jaw, on Thursday, May 16, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. Memorial donations to the Telemiracle/Kinsmen Foundation, 2217C Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK, S7L 6A8, would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel. Blair & Kelly Scott, Funeral Directors.
