BIEKER: Ronald Douglas

Ronald Douglas Bieker, 77, died January 24, 2014 after a valiant battle with cancer. Ron was born August 2, 1936 to Gregor and Elizabeth (Stadelman) Bieker in Watson, Sasaktchewan, Canada. He attained a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and as the only son, joined his father on the family farm and spent his early days in Saskatchewan. Ron married Helen (Korte) in 1958 and raied their six children together. He moved to the United States in 1967 and spent the next 40 years in agricutural related industires including developing and receiving a patent for the "Big A" commercial fertilizer spreader and owning Miller W Corp in Stratton, NE for many years. While at Miller W Corp., he expanded the agricultural line to include snow grooming equipment and commercial trash containers in order to keep his work crew busy year round. In 1993, Ron married Diane McConville. They worked together on several different business ventures, including a window repair business and even a bakery/ restaurant. New business ventueres were constantly on his mind. He took satisfaction in purchasing and refurbishing homes, cars and equipment. Ron enjoyed working together with Diane to restore a 1929 Model "A" they gave her parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. In later years, the internet introduced him to Craigslist and E-bay, where he spent hours looking for "deals" to help out other family members. His legacy is found in the gifts he left his family, a strong work ethic, determination, and an attitude that is lovingly known as "fix it or destroy it". Ron's creative mind was always a great resource for any problem to be solved.
