SCHULTZ: Roderick "George"

June 20, 1946 - October 6, 2013

The sudden and unexpected death of Mr. Roderick Schultz of the Annaheim district, SK, occurred at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK, on Sunday, October 6, 2013. He was 67 years of age. Rod was born on June 20, 1946, to August and Anna (nee Meyer) Schultz at Humboldt, SK. He grew up on the family farm near Annaheim and attended school in the area. Rod began his working career as a drywaller in Edmonton, AB, then returned to Saskatchewan and continued drywalling and painting in and around Annaheim and Humboldt. In 1995, he became employed at Doepker Industries in Annaheim, and worked there until his retirement. Rod was well-known by all near and far for his great sense of humor and very distinct laugh, which lit up the room around him. He enjoyed family get-togethers, fishing, camping, and touring around the countryside meeting up with both old and new acquaintances, many of whom knew him best as "George". "Rod was a great brother, uncle and best friend, who will forever be in our hearts." Rod "George" will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by four brothers and two sisters: Norbert Schultz of Annaheim, SK; Daniel (Marie) Schultz of Hudson Bay, SK, and their family Glen, Patricia, Julia, Brent and Lee; Donald (Mildred) Schultz of Humboldt, SK, and their family Grant and Victoria; and Dale (Linda) Schultz, of Humboldt, SK, and their family Dennette and Tracy; Dorothy Ann (Gerald) Olson of Plenty, SK, and their family Ole, Sylvia, Arlen and Harley; and Annabelle (Lloyd) Frank of Annaheim, SK, and their family Corrinne, Bruce, Kim, Owen and Tammy; brother-in-law, Ted Vossler of Surrey, BC, and his son Gregory; sister-in-law, Caroline (Camille) Rohel of Humboldt, SK; the family of the late Bernard Schultz, Howard, Ronald, Debra, Marvin, Reginald, Linda, Wesley and Leah; the family of the late Edward Schultz, Shirley-Ann and Genevieve; the family of the late Augusta McDonald, Sheila Martin and Kerry; the family of the late Maurice Schultz, Cyril and Maureen; and by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, August and Anna (nee Meyer) Schultz; three sisters: Bernice Vossler, Augusta (Ian) McDonald, and Jean (George) Milbery; five brothers: Sylvester, Edward, Martin, Maurice (Lena), and Bernard (Marion) Schultz; and by two nieces and two nephews. A Graveside Service was held at St. Ann's R.C. Cemetery, Annaheim, on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Richard Meidl, OSB. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Rod's life". Memorial donations may be directed to either the St. Ann's R.C. Cemetery Fund or the Humboldt District Hospital General Equipment Fund.
