The passing of Mr. Richard Muyres of Middle Lake, SK, (and formerly of Humboldt, SK) occurred at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK, on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the age of 79 years. Richard was born on June 9, 1936, to Frank and Albertina (nee Zimmerman) Muyres in Humboldt, SK. He was raised in the St. Gregor district where he took his education and also helped his father on the farm. Richard met Agnes Nienaber and they were married on October 9, 1957, and they were blessed with four children, Gerard, Eugene, Valerie and Brenda. Richard continued farming and his son Eugene joined him in the farming operation. He also did construction work, and in 1986, he obtained part ownership at 7 Oaks Furniture Manufacturing in Watson, SK. All his children have pieces of his handiwork and craftsmanship in their homes. In 1988, Richard and Agnes moved into Humboldt upon retirement, and then a final move to Bethany Pioneer Village in Middle Lake. Richard was a community-minded man, belonged to the Knights of Columbus, and was on the Co-op Board and Pool Board. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Agnes Muyres of Middle Lake, SK and children, Gerard (Yvonne) Muyres of Saskatoon, and family Tracy (Angelo) Ginakos of Calgary, AB, Ryan (Dani) Muyres and their children Holden, Harper and Emmett of Meota, SK; Eugene (Colleen) Muyres of St. Gregor, SK, and family Amanda (John) Enns of Watson, SK, Sarah Muyres of Saskatoon; Valerie (Allan) Fair of Saskatoon, and family Jena (Kris) Kurtenbach and their children Cadence and Madison of Calgary, Marla (Stephen) Masters and their children Jaxon and Jase of Red Deer, AB; Brenda (Kim) Duerr of Humboldt, SK, and family Derek Duerr of Humboldt, Jessica Duerr (Corey) of Regina, SK, and Chelsea (Richard) Perillat of Humboldt, SK. A Prayer Service for Richard was held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, on Friday, July 17, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., presided by Fr. Daniel Muyres, OSB. Organist was Darlene Cash; scripture readers were Tracy Ginakos and Jessica Duerr; intentions were Marla Masters and Jena Kurtenbach; and the eulogy was delivered by Mark Schweighardt. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., con-celebrated by Fr. Ephraim Mensah and Fr. Daniel Muyres, OSB, Abbot Peter Novecosky, OSB, Fr. Rudolph Novecosky, OSB, Fr. Paul Paproski, OSB and Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk, OSB. Others taking part were Amanda Enns, crossbearer; Tracy Ginakos and Jessica Duerr, scripture readers; Marla Masters and Jena Kurtenbach, intentions; Ray Gehlen and Nick Schweighardt, altar servers; Amanda Enns and Chelsea Duerr Perillat, giftbearers; Dolores Hinz, organist and the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir, music ministry; and Martin and Dora Kiefer, memorial table attendants. An Honor Guard was formed by the Knights of Columbus. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Richard’s life. Active pallbearers were Ryan Muyres, Derek Duerr, Sarah Muyres, Chelsea Duerr Perillat, Marla Masters and Jena Kurtenbach. Interment will take place at a later date.
