Rayna Jeannine Korte died on May 2, 2011 in her home in Humboldt while being cuddled by her parents, Cindy Placsko-Korte and Roger Korte. Rayna was born on July 28, 2004. In August of 2007 she was diagnosed with leukemia and in December of 2008 suffered a relapse of the disease. She spent most of her life fighting cancer and fought hard until the very end. Rayna was a student of Muenster School and a dancer with the Muenster School of Dance. Rayna loved life and made the absolute most of each day she was given. She loved to dance and sing. She loved books and making crafts. She loved to play games and dress up. She loved to shop and collect things. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. Most of all, Rayna loved her family and especially her cousins.Rayna's memory will be honoured by her Mommy, Cindy Placsko-Korte (Dimitri Medina) and her Daddy, Roger Korte (Jennifer Denton, Cody, Kailyn, Brooklyn, Sydney); Grandparents, Richard and Jeannine Placsko, Hugo and Vivian Korte; Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Don, her cousins Paige and Sierra Korte (Auntie Sandra and Uncle Mike), Haley and Andrew Freriks (Auntie Karen and Uncle Randal), Samantha and Maddie Davis (Auntie Susie and Uncle Scott), Jessica and Desiree Korte, Tonya and Danielle Stuart (Uncle Randy and Auntie Mae), Samantha, James and Jonathan Fredericks (Auntie Sheryl and Uncle Gary), Jorden and Sean Kunz (Auntie Lynette and Uncle Rob); her best friends McKenna Britz and Danica Kiefer; numerous others whose lives she touched deeply. Rayna was welcomed into heaven by her special friend Taya Anaka.A Celebration of Rayna's Life memorial service was held on Thursday, May 5 at 7:30 pm at St. Peter's Cathedral in Muenster. A Mass of the Angels funeral service was held on Friday, May 6 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Cathedral in Muenster, celebrated by Fr. Daniel Muyres, OSB.
