Michael Meidl passed away on April 14, 2016 at the age of 51. Michael, the youngest child of Louis and Louise (Baumann) Meidl, was born on August 26, 1964 in Cudworth, SK. He took all of his schooling in St. Benedict School, graduating in 1983. He enjoyed taking part in sports of all kinds and officiating hockey. He moved to Yellowknife, NWT in the fall of 1983 where he worked for Western Moving Co with three of his brothers. He lived there and worked with the same company until December 1990, except for spending eight months (1987-1988) in Edmonton where he took a Diesel Mechanics course at NAIT. When he moved to Edmonton in 1990, he started working for Pardee Equipment as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. After a few years, Michael realized his true calling and left Pardee to work in the moving industry which he was still doing.ÌýMichael was an avid CFL and hockey fan, a strong supporter of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Montreal Canadiens. He also loved to watch his nephews play sports and more recently his great-nephews. Michael was predeceased by his father Louis (1971) and his three brothers Brian (2008), Dennis (2012), and Mervyn (2014) and his sister Laura Brodbin (2014). Michael will be lovingly remembered by his mother Louise (Rudy) Kurja of Middle Lake, SK, sister Rosemary (Bryan) Foley of Quill Lake, SK, and brother Greg (Brenda) of Edmonton, AB and two sisters-in-law Margaret Korosi of Humboldt, SK, and Olene Meidl of Edmonton, AB and one brother-in-law Keith Brodbin of Edmonton, AB as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and many good friends. Michael’s final resting place will be on his brother Dennis’ grave at St. Benedict Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church in St. Benedict, SK.
