Marie M. KunzJune 11, 1935 - November 13, 2011The death of Mrs. Marie Marcella (nee Grieman) Kunz of Humboldt and formally of Annaheim, occurred on November 13, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital. Marie was 76 years of age. Marie was born in Humboldt on June 11, 1935, and grew up in the Annaheim area. Marie took all of her schooling in Annaheim. After her schooling, she helped the family by taking on babysitting jobs in the area. On July 21, 1956, she married Lawrence Kunz and they made their home in Annaheim. It was there that Marie and Lawrence raised their five children. She kept herself busy in the Annaheim area by continuing to babysit, working at the Library, the Store, the School and operating the kitchen at the rink, as well as tending to her garden and flowers which she took great pride in. While living in Annaheim, Marie also served on the Housing Authority Board and was a member of the CWL and the Annaheim Senior's club. She was an active member of St. Ann's Parish, and because of her ceramic ability, Marie was asked by the church to clean up and restore a statue. While her family was at home, Marie enjoyed following them around to all their sports activities. The family also went on many camping trips, which are still remembered by her children today. Marie's greatest love was for her husband, children and grandchildren. She and Lawrence moved into Humboldt about seven years ago, and lived there until her passing. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence Kunz of Humboldt; and by her five children and ten grandchildren: Gordon Kunz of Saskatoon; Kelly (Val) Kunz of Humboldt and their children, Tinaya (fiancé Chad), Blair and Jade; Bruce Kunz & friend Michelle of White Court, Alberta and his children, Brandon and Tyler; Ralph (Anita) Kunz of Saskatoon and their children, Sarah, Melissa and Megan; and Peggy (Sheldon) Becker of Cudworth and their children, Shelby and Jarod; and her one sister Catherine (Ted) Doepker of Saskatoon. Marie was predeceased by her parents: Michael and Marcella (nee Lang) Grieman; two sisters: Lorraine (Frank) Mueller and Ann (Joe) Lachmuth; two brothers, Arnold (Bernice) Grieman and Joe (Evelyn) Grieman. The Prayer Service for Marie was held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 7:30 P.M. from St. Augustine R.C. Church led by Walter Sarauer and Darlene Cash,organist; Others taking part were Meagan Kunz and Shelby Becker, readers; Ralph Kunz, eulogist. The Funeral Mass was offered on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10 A.M. from St. Augustine R.C. Church in Humboldt, concelebrated by Father Emile April and Father Rudolph Novecosky OSB. Others taking part were: Jarod and Sheldon Becker, crossbearers; Tinaya and Melissa Kunz, readers; Val and Anita Kunz, intentions; Jade, Sarah, Tyler and Brandon Kunz, gift bearers; Ralph Kunz, communion minister. Active pallbearers were: Ray Johnson, Kevin Grieman, Brian Grieman, Art Koenders, Duane Grieman and Ron Doepker. Interment followed at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery, Humboldt.
