Margaret (nee Meyer) HaeuslerOctober 13, 1929 - August 3, 2012
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Haeusler (nee Meyer) of Humboldt, SK, on Friday, August 3, 2012, at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, with her family by her side. She was 82 years of age. Margaret was born to Herbert and Elizabeth (nee Korte) Meyer at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Humboldt, on October 13, 1929. She took her schooling at the Monastery School in Muenster. After school, she worked at home on the farm and at the neighbors as a hired girl where needed. On October 15, 1952, Margaret married the love of her life, Marcellus Haeusler, in St. Peter's Cathedral at Muenster. They bought and moved the Kraeleman house into the Haeusler yard. Shortly after, they started a family, which included five sons and one daughter. Margaret and Marcellus raised livestock and farmed with his brother, Wilfred. She was kept busy gardening, helping with chores and taking care of the children. While the children were growing up she kept busy taking them to hockey games and curling in the winter, and ball games in the summer. After the children left home, Margaret worked for three years at St. Peter's Abbey in Muenster. In December 1992, they bought a lot in Humboldt where they planned to retire. Margaret and Marcellus retired into the new house in September 1993, where they both resided until the present. Margaret kept herself busy doing ceramics, and any other crafts. She loved playing cards, sewing, gardening, visiting with her family, watching sports which her grandchildren were involved with. Margaret always gave a helping hand when needed, especially when her family was doing carpentry work, building houses, or shingling. She also enjoyed having coffee with her friends on many afternoons. Margaret will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of almost 60 years, Marcellus Haeusler of Humboldt; her four sons, one daughter, five daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, 19 grandchildren, and six great- grandchildren: Daryl (Deb) Haeusler of Saskatoon and family, Shawn (Jyoti) and daughter Ellie, Lindsay (special friend) Darren L'Heureux; Lyle (deceased 2006) (Rose) Haeusler of Muenster and family, Dustin (Megan), Courtney, and Drew; Jewel (Darren) Varga of Muenster and family, Devin, Lyndon, Jenay, and Skyler; Darren (Lory) Haeusler of Humboldt and family, Jesse and Taylor; Kerry (Donna) Haeusler of Lake Lenore and family, Raelene (Eric) Yeager and their sons Aiden and Jake, Darcie (special friend) Aaron Foy, Tyson, Shelby and Riley; Jamie (Donna) Haeusler of Annaheim and family, Adina (Curtis) Hopfner and their sons Callum and Marshall, Colin, Megan (Ross) Bulat and their daughter Lauren; one brother, Wilfred ( Marianne) Meyer of Humboldt; four sisters: Monica Haeusler and Adella (Wilfred) Haeusler, both of Muenster; Mary (Art) Strueby of North Battleford; and Sandra (Allan) Strueby of Saskatoon; sisters-in-law: Ellen Meyer of BC; Thea Meyer and Mary Anne Prokosch, both of Humboldt; Ludvina Cox and Viola Lochbaum, both of BC; and Rosella (Mel) Hamel of Creighton, SK; brothers-in-law: Ralph (Linda) Britz of Muenster; Bernard (Ida) Haeusler of Humboldt; Clarence Haeusler of Lake Lenore; and George (Evelyn) Haeusler of Humboldt; by and numerous nieces and nephews.
