SARETSKY: Madeline
November 3, 1930 - April 4, 2014
Madeline passed away on April 4, 2014 at her residence in Calgary, AB. She started her working career at a department store in Humboldt, then moved to Saskatoon where she worked at The Bay. Madeline travelled through Europe and on her return to Canada, settled in Calgary. She was employed at a brokerage firm until her retirement. She was actively involved in volunteering and gardening at her apartment complex. Following her death, the patio garden was named The Madeline Saretsky Memorial Garden, in her honour. Madeline was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Elizabeth (nee Gursky) Saretsky; brother, Leonard; brothers-in-law, Sam Wilson and Sal Kosolofski. Her nephew Albert Kosolofski passed away in July. Madeline is survived by her four brothers: Martin of Humboldt, Raymond (Lillian) of Kamloops, BC, Donald (Ann) of Calgary, AB and Dennis (Claudette) of Humboldt; three sisters: France Kosolofski of Kamloops, BC, Margaret Wilson of Estevan and Mary (Art) Opseth of Regina; as well as many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service for Madeline was held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Hwy 5 East, Humboldt, SK officiated by Fr. Paul Paproski, OSB. Interment followed in St. Scholastica Roman Catholic Cemetery, Burr district. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home.
