The death of Mrs. Lorraine (nee Bolster) Therres of Humboldt, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. She was 96 years of age. Lorraine was born on the family farm north of Humboldt, on March 28, 1918, to George and Anne (nee Spangler) Bolster. She attended Burton Lake School, and after her schooling, she continued to work on the family farm. On June 10, 1941, Lorraine married George Therres at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Humboldt of which they were members. They resided on the Therres farm where they operated a mixed farming operation and also where they raised their family. Lorraine enjoyed gardening and baking, but her greatest pleasure was raising her family and caring for them. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her eight surviving children, 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson: Donald Therres; Bob (Kathy nee Boechler) Therres and family Josh Therres, Dawn (Orin) Hilman and son Tristan and daughter Bayne, Shannon (Ryan) Clarkson and sons Benjamin [deceased] and Tobiah; Len (Marlene nee Boechler) Therres and family Lee (Lori nee Spilack) Therres and sons Ethan, Caleb and Gage, Kim (Nathan) McLean and daughters Isley and Feiyah, Kody (Mariah Harkin) Therres and son Reid; Donna (Bruce) McGonigal and daughter Amy, Katherine (Levi) Langley and daughter Jayda, Crystal Klaschinsky and special friend Pete Gustafson; Sharon (Ken) Maynard and family Shane (Chelene nee Merrett) Maynard and children Jessica and Connor, Wade (Angella nee Enns) Maynard and daughters Adrian and Jorja, and son Kendall; John [deceased] (Claudine nee Boechler) Therres and family Christopher (Debbie nee Kuervers) Therres and sons Logan and Nathan, Robyn Manderscheid (Mike Crone) and daughter Avery Manderscheid, George (Kyla nee Hoppe) Therres and children Kyra and Tyson, Jodie (Graeme) Armstrong and children Noah, George and James, Michelle Therres (Kurtis Freve) and daughter Johnnessa, Matthew Therres; Carol (Bruce) Ehman and family Michael and Sharon; Lynn (Jerry) Huls and family Jill (Wes Volk) and son Morgan Huls and daughter Quinn Volk, Paul (Carla nee Low) Huls and sons Jayden and Carter, and daughter Calli, Leah Huls; Daryl (Patty nee Grunsky) Therres and family Madison and Mitchell; one nephew who was a child of her heart and raised as her son in childhood, Greg Schulte; one sister, Georgeanne Reimer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George; children, Doreen in infancy, Lee in childhood, and John; one great-grandson, Benjamin Clarkson in infancy; one son-in-law, Daniel Klaschinsky; her parents, George and Anne (nee Spangler) Bolster; and several brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The Prayer Service for Lorraine was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. presided by Nestor Trach. Scripture readers were Jodie Armstrong and Claudine Therres. A poem was read by Sharon Maynard. Organist was Darlene Cash. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Paul Paproski, OSB. Others taking part were: Leonard Novecosky, crossbearer; Angella Maynard, intentions; Jayden and Carter Huls, Quinn Volk, giftbearers; Sharon Maynard and Jessica Maynard, scripture readers; Greg Schulte, pianist and Kathleen Brannen, vocalist. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Lorraine's life." Active pallbearers were Donald Therres, Daryl Therres, Shane Maynard, Ken Maynard, Jerry Huls and Bruce Ehman. Interment followed at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt. Memorial donations may be directed to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation General Equipment Fund.
