Linda Wurm:
February 10, 1947 - March 12, 2013
It is with a profound sense of sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Wurm of the Peterson district. She was 66 years of age. Linda was born on February 10, 1947, to Anton and Fay (nee Hogan) Wurm in St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, SK. The first eight years of her life were spent on the farm. This ended, however, in 1955, when the family was forced to move off the land after extreme flooding. They ended up in Saskatoon where they would remain until Fay and Anton retired from their "city" jobs in 1975 to the land that they loved. Linda graduated from the College of Pharmacy in 1968. She began working part-time with Pinders Drugs in Saskatoon while still going to university, and then continued full-time with the firm until 1986. After that, Linda joined her sister Judy at Lakeview Pharmacy. They owned and operated that business for 10 years, when the appeal of country living came to life once again for them. Therefore, in 1996, Linda and Judy returned to the family farm that had been vacated after the death of Anton. Linda's hobbies and interests were many and varied. Anything involving animals, birds, or wildlife was an unfailing source of joy for her, as were her vegetable garden and flower beds. Seed order catalogues provided endless hours of reading, plotting and planning. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Fay (nee Hogan) Wurm of Watson; her sister, Judy Jones of Peterson; niece Tracy (Mike) Roberts and their children, Mary Catherine and Michael of New Hampshire, USA; her aunt, Helen Wurm of Humboldt; and many treasured cousins, neighbours and friends who have been, and are, an endless source of support. Linda was predeceased by her father, Anton Wurm (1983). The Prayer Service for Linda was held at St. Agnes R.C. Church, Peterson, SK, on Friday, March 15, 2013, at 7:30 p.m., presided by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. The scripture readers were Starr Basset and Marjorie LaBrash, the eulogy was delivered by Bernadette White, and music ministry was led by organist Lisette Detillieux. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Agnes R.C. Church on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Others taking part were: George Greuel, urnbearer; Lorne Haberman, crossbearer; Vonia Nimchuk and Carter Basset, altar servers; Larry Buckle and Bernadette White, scripture readers; Diane Buckle, intentions; Lorraine Dobler and Donna Greuel, giftbearers; Donna Haberman and Irene Wurm, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by organist Lisette Detillieux and the St. Agnes Parish Choir. Interment will take place at St. Agnes R.C. Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to either the St. Agnes Parish Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK.
