SCOTT: Leonard
The death of Leonard Scott, 62 years of Humboldt, occurred on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Humboldt District Hospital. Leonard was born on February 15, 1952 at Duck Lake, SK to Alfred and Cecile (nee Redwing) Scott. He came to live, as a foster child, with the John and Dolores Kaminski family on their farm in the Carmel district. He attended Keller School and Carmel School. As a young child, he loved to play outside in the yard and enjoyed the fun times with his foster brothers and sisters. Leonard learned many skills on the farm and was naturally mechanically inclined. He loved working on cars, restoring first a Chrysler Saratoga and then a Chevy Nova. He was excellent at running heavy equipment and worked the majority of his life in road construction, finishing his working career with Kirsch Construction at Middle Lake. He also helped various local farmers and worked for Willie Germain at Carmel for many years. In 1997, he suffered a debilitating injury on the farm and had been unable to work since that time. Leonard spent time watching TV and movies, and especially loved all kinds of music. He enjoyed playing cards, visiting and having fun with his friends. Leonard liked when friends or family would pick him up and take him for a drive around to see the countryside. He had a warm, infectious smile which he readily shared with everyone. Leonard saw the good in all and was very friendly and outgoing. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone at anytime, never expecting anything in return. Leonard will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Maggie Kaminski of Humboldt; brother, Harvey Scott of Saskatchewan and his foster brothers and sisters: Brenda Pastor of Humboldt, Heather (Brian) Lothammer of Eatonia, Glenda Ernst (Sandy Monteith) and Gwen Frey, both of Saskatoon, Wendy Yaworski of Humboldt, Wayne (Audrey) Kaminski of Regina, Don (Suzanne) Kaminski of Muenster and Sherry (Allan) Burynuik of Wakaw; foster brother Louis Chartrand of Cold Lake, AB; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his foster parents, John and Dolores Kaminski; and foster brother, Patrick Kaminski. The Prayer Service for Leonard was held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt.
