NOVECOSKY: Leonard

March 27, 1933 - September 9, 2014

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Leonard Novecosky of Humboldt, SK, announces his passing on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 81 years. It all started on March 27, 1933, when Leonard, the oldest of eight children, was born to Martin and Elizabeth (nee Suchan) Novecosky at home on their farm in the Burr district, where he grew up. On October 11, 1958, he married Sadie Kaminski in Edmonton, AB. In the spring of 1959, Leonard and Sadie moved to Burr to farm. They were blessed with six children, four sons and two daughters. Although life on the farm was very busy, Leonard still found time to pursue his favorite hobbies and interests; he loved music, dancing, carpentry, and also photography. One of his many projects was making caskets, and he was buried in one of his own. A man of faith, Leonard was devoted to the church and was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. On March 1, 2006, after a lengthy illness, Sadie passed away. Leonard married Jane Hall on October 28, 2009. His family was always of utmost importance to him.
