Kovlaske: Leonard Joseph
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Leonard Joseph Kovlaske, 75, of Spruce Grove, Alberta and formerly of Humboldt, SK, on Monday, May 6, 2013. Leonard was born on April 26, 1938 in Humboldt, SK to Andrew and Cecilia (nee Oberpeilsteiner) Kovlaske Sr. He grew up on a farm in the Englefeld/Spalding area and lived there until he married Bonnie Marshall of Humboldt on April 5, 1963. They settled on their farm near Carmel where they lived for 40 years and raised their family. Leonard is remembered by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie, of Spruce Grove, AB, and their three children and eight grandchildren: Monty (Lynda) Kovlaske, Chad, Shawn; Cindy (Patrick) Kelledy, Joseph, Ryan, Kendall, Donovan; and Lavern (Tina), Ethan, Emily. Also surviving is one brother, Albert Kovlaske and two brothers-in-laws, Stan (Sherron) Marshall and Bill (Pauline) Marshall; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends. Funeral service was held at St. Augustine's Anglican Church on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 10 a.m., celebrated by Reverend Quinn Strikwerda. Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully received by the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Services, Spruce Grove, AB.
