The passing of Laurent Lepage of Humboldt, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the age of 86 years. Laurent was born on March 26, 1928, on the homestead in the St. Denis district. He was the third child to Delphis and Antoinette (nee Belanger) Lepage. He attended Trojan School until about grade 8 and then took up farming with his father and oldest brother Wilfrid. In 1953, he married Therese Tremel and together they started a new farmstead east of Peterson. It was there that they raised a family of five children. Laurent ran a mixed farm raising cattle, hogs, chickens, and turkeys, along with growing various grains. He was a progressive and innovative farmer often being the first in the district to try different farming methods and seeding different crops. He developed into a master builder. He started with a very basic project, building an outhouse, which then evolved into building granaries, an arched-rib barn, and whatever else needed to be built. During his retirement years, he started doing the most intricate and complicated woodworking projects. Laurent and Therese did some traveling to various destinations in Canada and the United States. Later on, the only traveling they did was to the junction to have coffee with friends and drive around to see what the boys were up to. Laurent also took up gardening, producing massive crops of various vegetables. He also enjoyed camping and fishing and indulged in those hobbies as often as he could. Laurent is survived by his wife of 62 years, Therese (nee Tremel) Lepage; son Lucien (Sylvia) Lepage and family Eric and Stephanie; daughter Marie (David) Aucoin and family Michael (Ruth) Aucoin, Jennifer (Brett) Ferguson and daughter Elodie; son Yves (Michelle) Lepage and family Megan (Jeff) Altrogge and children Olivia and Jackson, Kelsey (Sasha) Weiman; son Philip (Dianne) Lepage and family Chris (Andria) Lepage and children Kolby and Carter, Kimberly (Kyle) Buckle and children Payton and Cooper, Daryl Lepage; daughter Monique (Aaron) Koob and family Kevin (Zoe) Koob, Christine Koob (Andrew), Dean Koob, and Ian Koob; sister Marthe Syrenne; sisters-in-law Edna Breese and Alice (Emile) Detillieux; brother-in-law Alain (Albertine) Tremel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
