Reineke: Joseph Rafael

The death of Mr. Joseph "Joe" Rafael Reineke of the Humboldt district occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. He was 85 years of age. Joe was born on October 24, 1927, to Henry and Anna (nee Grunsky) Reineke in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Humboldt. He was raised on the family farm northwest of Humboldt. After completing his Grade 10 education at Gertrude School, he worked full-time on the farm. Joe enjoyed raising livestock and tending the land. Any spare time he had was spent with his family and friends, who have been truly blessed by his genuine and caring personality. Joe is survived by one brother, Alvin Reineke; one sister, Rita Strome; five nephews: Gerald (Jean) Dumontier, Francis (Cecilia) Dumontier, David (Cheryl) Messier, Dennis (Margaret) Dumontier, and Larry (Vivian) Strome; and by four nieces: Linda (Jim) Quinn, Patricia (Nunz) Furtugno, Rose (Leonard) Messier, and Laurie (Dudley) Warford. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Anna (nee Grunsky) Reineke; three sisters: Sr. Annie Reineke, OSE, Gertrude Dumontier, and Agnes Messier; and by his twin brother, Henry Reineke (in infancy). The Prayer Service for Joe was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., led by Nestor Trach and organist Marie Aubin. Scripture readers were Nunz Furtugno and Colten Warford, and the eulogy was delivered by Larry Strome. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Gregory Roth. Others taking part were: Taryn Warford, crossbearer; Margret Dumontier and Rose Arcand, scripture readers; Steven Arcand, intentions; Laurie and Shelby Warford, giftbearers. Music ministry was provided by the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Joe's life". Active pallbearers were Larry Strome, Gerald, Francis and Dennis Dumontier, David Messier, and Dudley Warford. Interment followed at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery.
