KAMINSKI: John

The death of Mr. John Kaminski, 89 years of Humboldt, occurred on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Humboldt District Hospital. John was born to John and Mary (nee Matalski) Kaminski on August 11, 1925 in Carmel, SK. John took his education at Mount Carmel School. He moved to Massachusetts, USA for 1 year to help his uncle working at an apartment complex. Following that year he returned to Carmel and farmed with his dad and enjoyed working in all aspects of the farming operations but working with horses was his favourite. In 1952 he married Dolores Frey at Bruno R. C. Church this union was blessed with nine children. Dolores later passed away. February 13, 1996 John married Maggie Scott Frey at Living Word Ministries in Humboldt. John had a very deep faith and was very proud of his faith. He had many artistic talents which he shared with people all over the world. He built crosses and little churches all over the area and had people come to pray from many different countries. John was also known for building the largest tree house in Saskatchewan which is just north of Carmel which now is a family park. He also painted scenes small and large. John was very close to nature and birds especially swallows and pigeons. John was a man of faith and very active in his church. Bringing peoples attention to Christ through his art work and projects was his goal as an example the lighted cross as you enter Humboldt on the west side. For over 40 years he was a "Man of God" and brought many people to Our Lord and Saviour. John's talented hands could build and fix anything that was presented to him. He had a vision to see things especially when he carved eagles out of wood. His hands were never idle. John loved his blended family and lived his life with the 23rd psalm as his guide to a peaceful life.
