Joan "Red" ThompsonSeptember 3, 1931 - April 13, 2012

Red passed away peacefully at the Luther Special Care Home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Jack; her children, Scott (Jan) of Calgary, Jill (Ed - deceased) of Saskatoon, Jackie (Danny) of Moose Jaw; her grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, and Samantha; sisters, Monica, Gwen, and Faye; and many nieces and nephews. Red was born in Daylesford, SK and grew up and attended elementary and high school in Humboldt, SK. Red and Jack were high school sweethearts and married on September 12, 1953. Red and Jack lived in many cities throughout Jack's career with Shopper's Drug Mart and retired in Saskatoon. For those of you who knew her well, Red marched to the beat of her own drummer; she was a character - someone who challenged the status quo. She was always a champion for the underdog. She stayed true to herself to the very end. Her opinion was her opinion - end of story. Red, we love you, "on a bus."
