Helen laid down to rest one last time on Thursday, January 22, 2015, just following her 93rd birthday. Helen was born on the family homestead farm to Henry and Teresa (Koeffing) Greuel. She attended Kildrum school and later Nursing College in Saskatoon. Upon graduation, Helen worked at hospitals in Hafford and Wadena until her marriage to the love of her life, Arnold Koob, on October 22, 1951. Helen and Arnold settled on their farm at Kildrum and later moved to farm at Meacham (1964) and then retired to Bruno (1984). Helen was always good-natured, kind, gentle and never afraid of hard work. She will be remembered for her love of playing cards, where she was always ready for a game or two or ten. Helen had a knack for word puzzles, quilting, cooking and gardening. Helen enjoyed socializing and was active in the community as a CWL member, 4-H leader and community club participant. When no longer able to speak, her smile and a wave with her finger spoke volumes. Helen had the gifts of eternal optimism, unending patience and an unconditional love for all, especially her family and grandchildren, Steven, Mark, Alan and Hillary. Helen is survived by her daughters Kathleen and Margaret and sons-in-law, Cam Bateman, Art Yungwirth and Blair Schulte. Waiting in heaven with open arms are her cherished husband Arnold, daughter Brenda, parents Henry and Teresa, and brother, Ben. Helen will be remembered by her siblings, Marie Dyer, Edna Weninger, Alice Boehm, Leander (Bernadette) Greuel, Florence Steckler, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. ÌýA special thank you is extended to all who gave Mom, in these later years, loving care and support. Prayer Service and the Funeral Mass were at St. Bruno Parish, Bruno, SK. Memorial tributes may be made to the ALS Society, 90 C Cavendish Street, Regina, SK S4N 5G7 or to Canadian Cancer Society, 440 2 Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2C3.
