It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Harvey John Engele of the Humboldt district on Thursday, April 19, 2012. He was 64 years of age. Harvey was born to Albert and Anne (nee Becker) Engele in Humboldt on October 31, 1947. Growing up, he attended school in Carmel until 1963 and was then employed in various fields until 1968 where he began working as a mechanic at PCS Lanigan. His last couple of years he retired on his farm in Moseley, SK, where he spent his time in his garden and in the shop. Harvey is survived by his five children and nine grandchildren: Curt (Jackie) Engele and children Amy and Carter of Humboldt; Lee Engele and son Daegan of Humboldt; Andrea (Dennis) Mollenbeck and children Dawson, Samantha and Preston of St. Gregor; Kimberly (Nathan) Smith-Neuert and children Odysseus, Emma and Odin of Lake Lenore; Mitchell Engele of Humboldt; Judy Painter of Prince Albert (the mother of Harvey's children); seven siblings: Donald (Dorothy) Engele, Doreen (Kevin) Szautner, David (Jeanette) Engele, Phillip (Marie) Engele, Douglas (Ruth) Engele, Carol (Bill) Danylczuk, and Joyce Mooney (nee Engele); and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one daughter, Mia Engele (in infancy); and by his parents, Albert and Anne (nee Becker) Engele. The Prayer Service for Harvey was held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 7:30 p.m., led by Marlene Van Dresar. Scripture readers were Dennis Mollenbeck and Jeanette Engele; and the eulogy was delivered by Daegan Engele. Music ministry was provided by Marie Aubin. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine R.C. Church on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Fr. Emile April. Others taking part were: Dawson Mollenbeck, crossbearer; Jackie Belanger and Nathan Smith-Neuert, scripture readers; Tammy Mueller, intentions; Harvey's grandchildren, Samantha, Preston, Odysseus, Emma, Carter and Odin, giftbearers; and Marie Aubin, music ministry. An honor guard was formed by members of the Knights of Columbus. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Harvey's life". Active pallbearers were Donald Engele, David Engele, Philip Engele, Douglas Engele, Miles Engele, and Kevin Szautner. Interment followed at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Cemetery.
