MUYARD: Gerald Baptiste

October 1, 1944 - January 8, 2014

The death of Mr. Gerald Baptiste Muyard of Humboldt, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. He was 69 years of age. Gerry was born on October 1, 1944 to Marcel and Rose (nee Bens) Muyard in the Cudworth district and attended school grades K-8 at St. Benedict and 9-10 at Cudworth. He ran the family farm for many years and also worked for local farmers in the Cudworth area. In 1989, he moved to Humboldt and worked as a welder at Doepker Industries until he retired in 2008 due to health problems. Gerry was a hardworker and during his retirement years, he did maintenance in the apartment building where he lived. He also kept himself occupied with gardening and yard work at both his and his children's homes, but his life revolved around his immediate and extended family. Gerry was a very patient, kind person and a loving father and grandfather. He was known for looking like his father but his personality was that of his mothers. He had a gentle soul and will be forever missed. Gerry is survived by his partner of 40 years, Carol (nee Fugger) Muyard of Humboldt; four children: Derek (Connie) Muyard of Turtleford, SK, and their children McKenzie, Keely and Destiny; Regan (Debby) Muyard of Deschambault Lake, SK, and their children Bobby and Brayden; Juanine(Garret) Korte of Muenster, SK, and their children Morgan, Abbie and Adam; Austin Muyard of Saskatoon, SK and his children Brittany and Brennan; six sisters: Jean(Norm) Wilde of Cudworth, SK; Phyllis(Bert) Imhoff of St. Walburg, SK; Jackie(Sid) Schmidt of Wakaw Lake, SK; Bev(Leroy) Renneberg of Cudworth, SK; Sylvia(Claude) Prefontaine of Bonnyville, AB; Annette Tyshynski of Hinton, AB; one brother, Lynn(Lorna) Muyard of Martensville, SK; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Marcel and Rose (nee Bens) Muyard; and grandparents: Bernard and Anna Bens; and Paul and Francine Muyard. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Cudworth, on Monday, January 13, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., concelebrated by Fr. George Chatholil and Fr. Lawrence De Mong, OSB. Others taking part were: Brittany Muyard, crossbearer; Renee Wegman and Bailey Muyard, scripture readers; Sharlene Rutherford, intentions; Abbie Korte and McKenzie Corbeil, giftbearers; Clarence Jungwirth, communion minister; and Mary Weisensel and Arlene Pauli, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by Jackie Williams, pianist; and the Moms and Dads Choir. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Gerry's life". Active pallbearers were Kevin Imhoff, Morgan Korte, Joel Prefontaine, Richard Schmidt, Brennan Muyard and Randy Renneberg. Interment will take place at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Cudworth, at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to either Humboldt District Hospital Foundation General Equipment Fund or St. Michael's Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund.
