The death of George Novecosky of Humboldt, SK ( and formerly of Burr, SK) occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on July 30, 2016. He was 79 years of age. George was born to Fred and Christine (nee Tetzlaff) Novecosky on a farm near Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. He was the fifth of 11 children. The family moved to the Burr area when George was two years old. He worked a variety of jobs before establishing his own farm in the early 1970’s. George drove a number of school bus routes in the Lanigan School District between the ages of 22 and 65. He married Theresa Schmid in 1965. They had three daughters and six sons, whom they raised on a farm south of Burr. They lived on the farm for 46 years until George and Theresa retired to Humboldt in 2011. George will be remembered for his warm smile, sense of humour, musical ability, love for his family, and his deep faith in Jesus Christ. He played accordion with various bands since his youth. He performed at senior homes with friends and family until earlier this year. He travelled extensively throughout Saskatchewan, sharing his love of music. He travelled just as much to visit his family across the province, Canada, and the United States. His happiest moments were when he was with those he loved - whether at home or in far off places. His love, generosity and humour knew no bounds. George is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Theresa (nee Schmid) and their children Sandra (Madonna House), Patrick (Michele), Andrew (Louise), Frederick (Heather), Terence, Timothy (Cheryl), Sarah (Robert), Karen (Kevin), and Christopher; his 14 grandchildren Jonathan, Genevieve, Stephen, Peter, Daniel, Joseph, Katherine, Dominic, Samuel, James, Benjamin, Aidan, Anna, and David; his sisters: Sr. Theresa, Sr. Claire, and Elizabeth; and his brothers: Albert, Ervin, and James.
