Gary Anthony DustNovember 30, 1953 - December 10, 2011The death of Mr. Gary Anthony Dust of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, (and formerly of Bruno, SK), occurred at his residence on Saturday, December 10, 2011. After a courageous 10-year battle with cancer, Gary is resting in peace. Gary was born on November 30, 1953, to Louis and Doreen (nee Krentz) Dust in Humboldt. He grew up and attended school in Bruno. Gary then attended Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon where he took carpentry. After finishing his course at Kelsey, he worked for several years and then started his own business, Dust Construction. In 1977, Gary married Sherry Gartner in Bruno, where they lived and raised their family of three sons. Gary was a remarkable husband, father, grandpa, son, brother and friend; a true family man. His work ethic was admirable as he was a natural leader who led by example. He was the type of person who spoke few words but impacted the lives of many. Gary was a well-known man in the community and was dedicated to serving others. Besides being a talented carpenter, he was a community volunteer and a life-long member of the Lions Club, and dedicated countless hours to many projects whether it was something to do with the church, sporting events or community activities. He was involved in it all, but Gary's greatest love was the time spent with his family, whether it was fishing, camping or time at the rink. The memories will be with us forever. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Sherry (nee Gartner) Dust of Bruno; their three sons and two grandchildren: Cory (Dawn) Dust and son Benjamin of Martensville; Wesley (Ashley) Dust of Battleford; and Michael (Sheena) Dust and daughter Tensley of Nipawin; also two special blessings to be born in the Spring of 2012 making his grandchildren a total of four; his mother, Doreen (nee Krentz) Dust of Cudworth; his siblings: Gloria (Duane) Schlosser of Cudworth; Cecil (Bonnie) Dust of Saskatoon, SK; Kim (Dorothy) Dust of Bruno; and Kathy Dust (Rod Ursu) of Saskatoon; mother-in-law, Kaye (Mel) Gartner-Jasken of Bruno; in-laws: Keith (Debbie) Gartner of Saskatoon; Lyle (Lois) Gartner of Wakaw; and Lynn (Mark) Dauvin of Saskatoon; and by numerous nieces and nephews who loved their uncle dearly. He was predeceased by his father, Louis Dust; father-in-law, August Gartner; and brother-and-sister-in-law, Brian and Yvonne Gartner. The Prayer Service for Gary was held at St. Bruno R.C.
