Mrs. Esther Annie (nee Lohman) Schmeiser of Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, (and formerly of Fulda, SK, and Humboldt, SK), passed away at her residence on Thursday, August 6, 2015. She was 91 years of age. Esther was born on April 16, 1924, to Bill and Clara (nee Doetzel) Lohman at home on their farm in the Willmont district. She grew up there and attended Stearns Country School. After completing Grade 8, Esther stayed home to help on the family farm. On June 3, 1947, she married Raymond βRayβ Schmeiser at Willmont. Six children, three sons and three daughters, were born to them. Ray and Esther purchased the Eggerman farm near Fulda, where they ran a mixed-farm operation and raised their family. Esther was a dedicated farm wife, mother and homemaker. She loved gardening, singing in the church choir, and was a member of the C.W.L. Esther and Ray moved to Humboldt in 1981, and continued to farm from there. In October 2007, they relocated to Birch Manor at Bethany Pioneer Village. Ray passed away on July 12, 2011. Esther continued to reside at Bethany until the present. She leaves fond memories as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Esther will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her five children, 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren: Linda(Peter) Stroh of Saskatoon, SK, and family, Joanne(Kent) Pudlowski and daughter Cassie, and Brandon(Shelda) Stroh and children Jacine and Reichan; Rudy Schmeiser(Lora Fraess) of Fulda, SK, and family, Dustin Fraess and Rheanna Fraess; Marian(Blair) Basset of Peterson, SK; Betty (Brian) Hauser of Pilger, SK, and family, Chantelle (Justin) Gamble and children Dagen and Kierstyn, and Derek (Tiffany) Hauser and son Brody; and Joe Schmeiser(Pam Bergermann) of Muenster, SK, and family, Shelby Bergermann, Taylor Bergermann and Carly Bergermann; daughter-in-law, Joyce Schmeiser of Fulda, SK, and family, Bryan(Nanette) Schmeiser and children Alyssa and Courtney; sister-in-law, Nina Lohman; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Schmeiser; son Donald Schmeiser; parents, Bill and Clara (nee Doetzel) Lohman; and by two brothers: Flavian Lohman and Leonard (Annie) Lohman. The Prayer Service for Esther was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, on Monday, August 10, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., led by Luella Bregenser and organist Darlene Cash. Scripture readers were Peter Stroh and Joyce Schmeiser, and the eulogy was delivered by Linda Stroh. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Ephraim Mensah. Others taking part were:Μύ Chantelle Gamble, crossbearer; Peter Stroh and Joyce Schmeiser, scripture readers; Courtney Schmeiser, intentions; Alyssa Schmeiser, Shelby Bergermann, Taylor Bergermann, Cassie Pudlowski, Jacine Stroh, Reichan Stroh, Dagen Gamble, and Kierstyn Gamble, giftbearers; Myrna Bjorklund and Debbie Worms, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir. An honor guard was formed by members of the C.W.L. Active pallbearers were Bryan Schmeiser, Derek Hauser, Brian Hauser, Blair Basset, Brandon Stroh, and Peter Stroh. Honorary pallbearers were βall those who shared in Estherβs lifeβ. Interment followed at St. Josephβs R.C. Cemetery, Fulda. Memorial donations may be directed to either Bethany Pioneer Village or the St. Josephβs R.C. Cemetery Fund.
