NIENABER: Eric Henry
October 8, 1977 - October 3, 2013
The sudden death of Mr. Eric Nienaber of Saskatoon, SK, occurred in Saskatoon, SK on Thursday, October 3, 2013. He was 35 years of age. He was born into the family of Martin and Donna(nee Wourms) Nienaber on October 8, 1977 in Nipawin, SK. He attended elementary school in Foam Lake, SK; secondary school in Rocanville, SK, and started his post-secondary career at St. Peter's College, Muenster, SK. He obtained a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Archaeology at the University of Saskatchewan where he had the opportunity to go on an archaeological dig at Tel Aviv, Israel. Eric then attended Kelsey where he took a skill development course which taught him how to work with his Learning Disability. Following his time at Kelsey he obtained his Commercial Pilot's License through Mitchinson's Flying Service in Saskatoon; he then managed a northern air base in Lynn Lake, Manitoba. Eric became a member in training in the Canadian Armed Forces. Later he returned to Rocanville where he gained employment at AMEC/PCS before moving to Saskatoon. It was in Saskatoon where Eric began his training with Spectrum Electric to obtain his ticket as a Journeymen Electrician, which he completed in January of 2013. Along the way Eric found time to work many other jobs, such as Airport Security, Maintenance at Earls Restaurant, and other building and repair jobs for numerous friends and family. Eric never gave up on his ultimate dream of becoming a member of the Saskatoon Police Service, and at the time of his death he was in the midst of training for his application to the service. When not at work, Eric enjoyed spending time with family and friends, biking, rock climbing, scrambling, mountain climbing, hiking, tenting, fishing, camping, running, cross-country skiing, and spending time at the cabin. His favourite times were spent "just hangin' out" with family and friends; playful times with "Crazy Uncle E" will be missed by his much loved nephews and nieces. Left to cherish Eric's memory are his parents, Martin and Donna (nee Wourms) Nienaber; one brother and four sisters: Blayn (Lori) Nienaber and family, Denin(Jene) and her daughter Xia, Chantel and children Natalia, Liam, and Nixxin, and Cherissa; Leah(Darren) Oystreck and family Samuel, Amani, and Iyla; Trina(Wayne) Kingdon and family, Ashton, Tanner, Gavin, Garrett and Aubrey; Denae(Charles) Fafard and daughter Eliza; Aileen(Nathan) Loxterkamp and son Isaac; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
