The death of Mr. Emilien "Emile" Alfred Moisan of Humboldt, SK, (and formerly of St. Front, SK,) occurred on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt. He was 89 years of age, and the last of his generation. Emile was born on July 26, 1923 to Borromée and Celina (nee Vaillancourt) Moisan on the family homestead near St. Front. He was raised on the farm, and attended school at St. Raymond Country School. In 1945, Emile bought the farm from his dad. On October 11, 1949, he married the love of his life, Imelda Chamberland, at Zenon Park, SK. They lived on the farm until 1959, when they moved into the hamlet of St. Front. In 1967, they began janitorial duties at the school, which they did for 23 years. He retired in 1990 from the school and they continued to live in St. Front, until they moved to Watson in 1995. In 2010, they moved into Humboldt, where he resided until the present. Emile loved playing the violin, playing cards, and playing horse shoes. He loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. He was a quiet, peaceful, but fun loving gentleman. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He always used to say, "If I could live my life over again, I would do the same". Emile will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Imelda (nee Chamberland) Moisan of Humboldt; his nine children: Jeanne (Jim) Ingram of Quill Lake, SK, Irene (Garry) Sales of Saskatoon, SK, Celine (Greg) Walters of Pike Lake, SK, Pauline (Peter) Keenan of Melbourne, Australia, Leo (Faye) Moisan of Saskatoon, Yvonne (Trevor) Kimpinski of Regina, SK, Raymond (Karen) Moisan of Saskatoon, Roger (Lana) Moisan of Saskatoon, and Annette (Dave) Conlon of Osler, SK; 26 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Elise Moisan of St. Front, SK; brother-in-law: Marcel Colbert of Saskatoon; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
