Elmer was born in Rosthern, Saskatchewan to John (1895-1947) and Martha (Schroeder) Sukut (1904-1969). Elmer grew up on a farm in Rosthern, SK. Upon graduating from high school he worked in Sylvan Lake, AB for a couple of years before returning to Rosthern to work for the Imperial Bank of Commerce. Elmer married Betty Wachs in 1956. They soon after moved to Brandon, MB for a couple of years, then to Thunder Bay where they resided for the next six years and welcomed their first child Jeffrey. In 1964, Elmer and Betty moved to North Bay, Ontario where Elmer took a job as an Estate Officer with Guaranty Trust. They resided there for 16 years and welcomed their second child Lori, and their third child David. In 1980 the family moved to Regina and after the nest was emptied and a few years after retiring, Elmer and Betty moved to Lanigan in 1997. They then made their final move together to Humboldt in 2004, where they have resided since. Elmer passed away peacefully on November 30, 2014 at Humboldt Hospital. Elmer was a dedicated husband and father, who was always there for his family when they needed him. He will be sadly missed, always loved, and never forgotten. Elmer will be forever remembered by his wife of 58 years, Betty (Wachs) Sukut and children: Jeffrey Sukut, (Shelley Becker); grandchildren Taylor and Jessica, of Redvers, SK.Ìý Lori Donaldson, (James); grandchildren Chelsey (Johnathon) Sheepway and Steven of Coalhurst AB. David Sukut, (Leah Trafford); grandchild Reeve of Winnipeg MB.Ìý Elmer is also survived by brothers and sisters in law:Ìý Ken and Lily Wachs of Saskatoon, SK, Doug and Alma Wachs of Lanigan, SK, and sisters in law: Elaine Sukut of Kamloops, BC, and Vilma Sukut of Prince Albert, SK and many cherished nieces and nephews. Elmer is predeceased by parents John and Martha, brothers Eric (Yolande) Sukut, Art Sukut, and Lawrence Sukut and sister Verna (Wilfred) Triol. In accordance with Elmer’s wishes, a private family/close friend’s graveside memorial service will take place at Lanigan Cemetery at a later date.Ìý Arrangements in care of Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt SK.
