DUST, Doreen

The peaceful passing of Doreen Dust, 87 years, of Lakeview Pioneer Lodge, Wakaw and formerly of Bruno, occurred at her residence with her family by her side, on Friday, January 11, 2013. Doreen was born on April 23, 1925 to George and Margaret (nee Louis) Krentz at Bruno. She attended Sunlight School and then spent one year at Kildrum School. Doreen married Louis, son of Ben and Anna (nee Kramer) Dust. They spent several years on the Dust farm, 1 1/2 miles southeast of Bruno, and then they moved in to the town of Bruno, where she remained for most of her life. As her health began to fail, Doreen made several moves, first to Prairieview Enriched Housing in Bruno, then to St. Michael's Haven in Cudworth and finally to Lakeview Pioneer Lodge in Wakaw, where she received wonderful care until her passing. Doreen had many hobbies and interests over the years, including quilting, covering hangers, sewing, painting, stained glass work and pottery. She was a member of the St. Bruno CWL and the Bruno Senior Centre. Doreen, the ever proud mom, enjoyed having her family gather for meals at the house and cabin over the years, and delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren stopping in for short visits. Doreen is resting in peace and her memories will be with us forever.
