Dennis Hubert Ilg
February 3, 1971 - December 2, 2012
The death of Mr. Dennis Hubert Ilg of Lake Lenore, SK, occurred at his residence on Sunday, December 2, 2012. He was 41 years of age. Dennis, the eldest of three children, was born on February 3, 1971, to Syl and Judy (nee Hinz) Ilg at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Humboldt, SK. He grew up in Humboldt and attended St. Dominic School for his elementary education and Humboldt Collegiate Institute for his secondary education. After graduating, Dennis tried his hand at construction before attending MVMR mechanic training at SIAST in Saskatoon. Upon completing his training, he went on to own and operate his own auto detailing business. It was during that time that he was blessed with the birth of his daughter Morgan in 1995, and his son Kyle in 1997. Shortly thereafter, he followed in his father's footsteps by getting into the used car sales business, then gave Big Sky Farms a go. Eventually, Dennis moved on to the real estate profession, an occupation he pursued for many years. In 2007, he welcomed another son, Tyson, followed by the birth of his youngest son Ryder in 2008. Dennis was currently employed by the City of Humboldt. It was the diversity of his many professions that helped build the character we all knew. Dennis loved his children first, but in spite of his busy life, he always found time for friends, cards, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Morgan Ilg, and sons Kyle Ilg, Tyson Ilg and Ryder Ilg; parents, Syl and Judy (nee Hinz) Ilg; sister, Tanya (Dwight) Kohle and family, Kody Steadman and Luke Kohle; brother, Devin (Shauna) Ilg and family, Rebecca Ilg and Hudson Ilg; numerous aunts, uncles and other family members; and by special friend, Carla Bartole. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Hubert and Mathilda (nee Kirchner) Ilg; and by his maternal grandparents, Tony and Eleanor (nee Lange) Hinz. The Funeral Mass for Dennis was offered at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Ephraim Mensah. Others taking part were: Devin Ilg, crossbearer; Tanya Kohle, urnbearer; Kody Steadman and Shauna Ilg, scripture readers; Jaden Wood-Sparrow, intentions; Morgan Ilg and Kyle Ilg, giftbearers; Dillon Buckle and Jaden Wood-Sparrow, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by organist Dolores Hinz and the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir. An honor guard was formed by Dennis' co-workers from the City of Humboldt Public Works Department. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Dennis' life". Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the Dennis Ilg Family Trust (c/o Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, P.O. Box 100, Humboldt, SK, S0K 2A0). Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK.
