Stroeder: Anne (nee Stuckel)
January 9, 1922 - May 8, 2013
A grand lady has left this world, showing strength, dignity, and a positive demeanour till the very end. Ann was born in Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan and worked in Fort San, SK and Tranquille, BC before settling back in Lake Lenore with Ed to raise their family. In 1966 they moved to Esterhazy where Ann managed the Sears catalogue office until her retirement. Shortly after that she relocated back to Humboldt and did a good deal of the traveling she'd always dreamed of, including trips to Europe, Israel, and Australia. In 1990 Ann made her home in Edmonton. Living in her own house, she was an avid gardener who made her home a frequent destination for family and friends, and her yard a haven for countless birds. A voracious reader who completed crossword puzzles from start to finish without pause, Ann was always interested in and informed about the world around her. Music was one of her greatest pleasures and her home was often filled with sounds of operas, symphonies, and favorite singers. Predeceased by her husband, Ed (1988), daughters JoAnn (2006) and Kathy (2011), Ann will be deeply missed by her sons Ed (Nora) and Tim (Adele), and her daughter, Clarice (John). Her grandchildren were a source of joy and they will always be grateful for her love, wisdom, and sense of humor. Heartfelt thanks go to all the people who made the Mel Miller Hospice at the Edmonton General a place for Ann to 'finish well'. Donations in Ann's memory may be made to the Edmonton General Hospital Palliative Unit 9Y, 11111 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5K 0L4. A traditional Roman Catholic St. Pius X Requiem Mass took place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Highway #5 East, Humboldt, Sk
