Freedom from the dreaded Parkinson's disease which viciously attacked our dear husband, father, brother, uncle and friend Albert came on Sunday, July 25, 2010 peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence St. Mary's Villa Humboldt. He was 78 years of age. Albert was born at Lestock, SK on August 24, 1931 to Joseph and Annie (nee Macza) Vokali. Following his education at Marr Hall School Albert began his 50 year farming career. On July 11, 1981 he married Lorraine Pajot at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Duck Lake. Together they farmed in the Lestock area and they were blessed with one son, Paul. Albert took pride in everything he did from farming to volunteering. He was known to walk around with a rag continually making sure his equipment was clean and in immaculate conditions at all times. He enjoyed harvest the best, where he would love to watch the hawks and observe their way of life. He was community minded - involved with the Credit Union Board, Lestock Rural Telephone and Lions Club. His faith was important to him and was always ready and willing to help at the church in any way. He also enjoyed a good game of 3-spot (Kaiser), pool and horseshoe. He was an avid curler and had many trophies to show for his efforts. In 1996 Albert retired from farming and they moved to Humboldt but unfortunately he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and was robbed of his retirement years. He did continue to spend time with family and friends by playing cards and being involved in the community as best he could. Albert was a gentle, caring, soft spoken man that will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving wife of 29 years Lorraine and son, Paul both of Humboldt; three sisters and one brother: Elizabeth Blaskovich of Regina, Agnes Sich, Annie (Gordon) Sich all of Punnichy and Joseph (Debbie) Vokali of Wadena; mother-in-law, Rose Pajot of Duck Lake; sister and brother-in-law: Cecile Pajot of Carlton and Remi (Debbie) Pajot of Winnipeg; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Annie Vokali; father-in-law, Phillippe Pajot; three brothers-in-law: Zoltan (Chester) Blaskovich, Joe Sich and Paul Pajot. A Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Emmanuel Azike O.P. at St. Augustine R.C. Church Humboldt. Others taking part in the service were: crossbearer, (Albert's Godchild) Amie Feszczyn - scripture readers, (Albert's niece) Angie Hengstler and (Albert's brother-in-law) Remi Pajot - intentions, (Albert's nieces) Judy Sich and Lisa Peters - gift bearers (Albert's sisters), Elizabeth Blaskovich, Agnes Sich and Annie Sich, soloist (CD) (Albert's niece), Lisanne Pajot. Honorary Pallbearers were "all those who shared in Albert's life". Urn bearer was Albert's son, Paul. Interment followed at the St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations in Albert's memory may be directed to St. Mary's Villa Foundation or Saskatchewan Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to MALINOSKI & DANYLUIK FUNERAL HOME Humboldt 682-1622.
