KIENLEN: Agnes Regina

Mrs. Agnes Regina (nee Rechenmacher) Kienlen of Stensrud Lodge, Saskatoon, SK, (and formerly of the Burr district), passed away at her residence on Friday, June 27, 2014. She was 104 years of age. Agnes was born on December 23, 1909, to Anton and Mary (nee Diederichs) Rechenmacher at Leofeld, SK. For a period of 33 years, Agnes taught at Banner School in the Burr, SK, district and retired in 1973. On June 29, 1973, Banner School closed, ending an era that began 65 years ago. Students from the area were then bussed into Muenster. Agnes is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Hessam; and sister-in-law, Lena Rechenmacher. She was predeceased by her husband, Emil W. Kienlen; daughter, Geraldine Hunks; grandson, David Hunks; parents, Anton and Mary (nee Diederichs) Rechenmacher; and by two sons-in-law: Douglas Hessam and Reginald Hunks. The Prayer Service for Agnes will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, July 14, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Ephraim Mensah. Both services will be held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, SK. Interment will follow at St. Scholastica R.C. Cemetery near Burr.
