Truly U wigs moves to Saskatoon

Truly U Wigs transfers ownership as owner steps down to help family.

NORTH BATTLEFORD — Shannon Powell always knew she wanted to make people look and feel good.

After owning hair salons for over a quarter century, she decided to take extensive training and become the first in the Battlefords region to open a boutique to offer hair replacement options.

Among these included wigs and toppers.

Her expertise and experience as a stylist paid off dividends, customizing the design of each of the pieces for her clients.

These designs were significant, as it gave those with cancer a sense of pride and self-confidence despite facing a plethora of challenges.

Wigs were only one part of the business though, as bra fitting, being a certified Sigvais compression stocking fitter, and a prosthesis fitter kept her on her feet. Powell began with Amoena, before expanding into four other bra companies.

For Powell, the business of her schedule allowed her to be a part of so many different people’s lives, and in turn it has given her perspective on the journey. “ I want to thank with the bottom of my heart everyone who trusted and supported me to guide and take care of them!”

The company has been sold to The Pink Tree in Saskatoon, as Powell will be deferring her passion in order to take care of parents, who are both currently ill.

Powell is ensuring all those with orders will be kept in touch with, and will arrange alternative pickup locations until each person is looked after.
