North Battleford resident dies in collision in Alberta

The two-vehicle collision occurred near Leduc, Alta, on April 2.

LEDUC, Alta. - A 33-year-old North Battleford resident has died following a two-vehicle collision near Leduc, Alta, on April 2. Also deceased in the same vehicle was a 73-year-old resident of Camrose.

According to Alberta RCMP, at about 8:34 p.m. on Wednesday, Leduc RCMP got a report of a collision between a Kia Forte and a Hyundai Sante Fe on Highway 21 at Township 502 in Leduc County. When officers arrived on scene, both occupants of the Kia were deceased.

Leduc RCMP remained on scene for several hours investigating. They say they are now conducting an investigation of the driver of the Hyundai for impaired driving causing death. The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

Alberta RCMP would like to give their sincere condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of these individuals.
