NORTH BATTLEFORD - Second update, Dec. 16, 3:59 p.m.: A second person has now been charged in the death of a North Battleford man.
As a result of continued investigation, on Dec. 12, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes located and arrested a male youth in Regina.
A 17-year-old male youth from Saskatoon is charged with: manslaughter and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The male youth’s charges were laid in relation to the Feb. 2 death of Jordan Wright from North Battleford. Police are unable to identify the male youth as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The male youth appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Dec. 13.

Update, Dec. 9, 3:55 p.m.: RCMP have charged a North Battleford man with first-degree murder in the death of Jordan Wright, 32. Xavier Lonesinger, 26, was arrested at the Saskatoon Provincial Corrections Centre on Dec. 7.
The charges stem from a Feb. 2 incident. Battlefords RCMP received a report of a shooting at a residence on 93rd Street in North Battleford. They responded to find an injured male, who was later pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.
RCMP say their investigation determined two males entered the house armed with weapons and an altercation took place. A firearm was discharged and Wright was injured. He later died of his injuries. The suspects fled on foot. The North Battleford RCMP searched the area with the assistance of North Battleford Police Dog Services.
At the time, RCMP said the incident was not believed to be random.

Original post, Feb. 5, 2:32 p.m.: RCMP are investigating a homicide that occurred recently in North Battleford.
On Feb. 2, at approximately 5:56 p.m., North Battleford RCMP received a report of a shooting at a residence on 93rd Street in North Battleford.
Officers immediately responded and located a 32-year-old injured male, who was later pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.
Investigation has determined two males entered the house armed with weapons, and an altercation took place. A firearm was discharged and the 32-year-old male was injured, he later died of his injuries. The suspects then fled on foot. The North Battleford RCMP searched the area with the assistance of North Battleford Police Dog Services.
Initial investigation has determined that this incident is not believed to be random in nature.
Saskatchewan Major Crimes is investigating the death as a homicide and is releasing the name of the victim to help further the investigation. He is being identified as 32-year-old Jordan Wright of North Battleford. His family has been notified and victim services made available to them.
