Man looking at weapons charges following police seizure in NB

NORTH BATTLEFORD - A man is facing charges after police seized a firearm in North Battleford.

On Sept. 20, North Battleford RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) – Gang Task Force and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team executed a search warrant at a home on Panton Avenue.

A firearm and ammunition were seized from the home. As a result of the investigation, a man was arrested later that day.

A 46-year-old man is charged with: weapons possession contrary to order; possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized; careless use of a firearm; and fail to comply with release order condition.

He appeared in court in North Battleford on Sept. 25.
