SASKATOON - A man is facing charges following a report of an attempted robbery on Aug. 1 in Saskatoon.
At approximately 7 p.m., the Saskatoon Police Service were called to the area of 10th Street East and Broadway Avenue for a report for a robbery. Further information stated a man had a knife and tried to stab someone.
The suspect fled before police arrived. However, the Air Support Unit (ASU) noticed the suspect walking on a pathway near Saskatchewan Crescent. ASU directed K9 units to the suspect’s location along the river, where police then arrested him.
As a result, a 42-year-old man is facing charges in relation to assault with a weapon, uttering threats, obstructing police, possession of a weapon, and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions.
