SWEETGRASS FIRST NATION – RCMP say the Saskatchewan Coroners Service has been engaged and an autopsy has been ordered after a death at a residence on Sweetgrass First Nation.
At this stage of the investigation, police say investigators can confirm an adult male was located deceased at a residence on Sept. 20. Next of kin have been notified and Victim Services has been engaged to provide support.
Investigators advise there is no threat to the public in relation to this incident.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes in conjunction with Battlefords RCMP and the Battlefords RCMP Forensic Identification Services will remain in the community for an undetermined amount of time and are asking residents to stay clear of the area. Investigators are conducting interviews and gathering information to develop a clear timeline of events and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
