SASKATOON — The board of directors of Saskatchewan Co-operative Association has named Danika Dinko as SCA’s executive director, effective May 24.

“After an extensive search, SCA has selected Danika to lead our organization into its next chapter,” says Jim Deane, chair of the board. “Danika has wide-ranging co-operative and credit union experience that will benefit all aspects of SCA.”

Dinko began her co-operative career with the United Farmers of Alberta in their management training program. She then returned to Manitoba and joined Twin Valley Co-op in a sales and agronomy role. She moved to the credit union system in 2018. Prior to her return to university in 2018 she managed four branches at Fusion Credit Union in southwestern Manitoba.

Dinko graduated Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, honours. Her research project, entitled “Understanding the Dynamics of Member Loyalty and Commitment: The Co-operative Advantage,” was selected for presentation at a national undergraduate research conference earlier this year.

An engaged community volunteer, Dinko was an executive member of the Manitoba 4-H Council, a presenter of financial literacy and life skills programs for Junior Achievement Canada, and a co-developer of Changent YYC, a Calgary youth summer camp. She is an avid curler.

“I look forward to meeting with each one of SCA’s member organizations over the next few months and learning how the association can support them through our programming and activities, and how we can position ourselves for the future,” Dinko says.

To reach Dinko, email her at [email protected], call 306-343-3582, or drop by the SCA offices at 1515 – 20th St. W., Saskatoon.
