CALEY, Alta. - It was corn canning day at the Cayley Colony near Cayley, Alta., Aug. 17 with what garden boss Michael Walter says is one of the best crops he can recall. The corn is husked in the colony wash rack and then washed again in the kitchen before being cooked and canned. Some of the corn also stays on the cob.
