The Yorkton Terriers are still stuck in third spot in the Viterra Division of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
The Terriers sit with a record of 4-8-0-1 for nine points, six back of Estevan, and eight adrift of the leading Weyburn Red Wings. Melville sits last in the Division with four points.
In terms of action, Monday the Yorkton Terriers must have felt a lot like Stephen Harper and the Conservatives as everything went badly for both.
It took the host Notre Dame Hounds only eight shots to score five goals to start the game.
Brady Third started the scoring 3:39 into the game for Notre Dame, and by 10:39 Peyton Hogan, Ian Williams and Rhett Kingston had scored.
Jack Flaman added a fifth Hound goal on the powerplay with two ticks left on the first period clock.
Brandon Sookro, with the man advantage and Dexter Robinson, with his first goal of the season replied in the period for the Terriers.
The Terriers steadied things in a scoreless second period for both squads.
But the third was again the Hounds.
Gage Ramsay scored at 10:16 on the powerplay, with Kingston and Third each adding their second of the game to round out an 8-3 win.
Six of the goals were scored against Cameron Pateman on 28-shots in 55:34 of action. Jakob Severson allowed two-goals on four shots.
Riley Welyk was in the Hounds net facing 36-shots in the win.
Friday the Terriers hosted Flin Flon who arrived at the Farrell Agencies Arena in the basement of the Sherwood Division.
Regan Sieferling scored 1:05 into the game, only to have the Bombers respond with a goal from Nick Shumlanski at 2:48.
Cole Keenleyside would give Yorkton a 2-1 lead, one they would take to the dressing room after one period.
Corwin Stevely scored a short-handed marker 31-seconds into the second for a 3-1 lead.
But goals by Joel Kocur and Michael Knaub would respond to tie the contest 3-3 after two frames.
The game would stay knotted through the third period, pushing the teams into the five-minute, four-on-four overtime, extra time which did not result in a goal from either side.
In the ensuing shoot-out it would take 10 shooters and only one scoring; Curtis Roach to give the Bombers a 4-3 win.
Jakob Severson was in the Terrier nets facing 41-shots and the shoot-out, while Zac Robidoux defended the nets for Flin Flon facing 39-shots and the shoot-out.
A night later Yorkton was in Humboldt and led after 20-minutes on a gaol by Carson Cayer 6:32 into the opening frame.
But that would be it for the Terrier offence which managed only 20 shots on Bronco net minder Brett Clark.
Meanwhile, Jace Pesch would tie the game 3:22 into the second period, with Jarrett Fontaine gave the host team its first lead of the contest at 14:09.
The Broncos, who had 34-shots, would pump three more past Terrier net minder Matt Kustra in the third for a 5-1 win.
Drew Warkentine scored a powerplay goal at 2:28, with Rock Ruschkowski and Wesley Shipton rounding out the scoring.
The Terriers were in Wilcox last Wednesday where they fell behind the host Notre Dame Hounds 2-1 in the first period.
Peyton Hogan and Evan Werle scored for the home side, with Shane Sherban responding at 18:41 on the powerplay for the Terriers.
Yorkton took the lead with a pair of answered goals in the second, Adam Santoro and Tyler Baier getting the goals.
Gage Ramsay scored 2:43 into the third for the Hounds to knot the game 3-3, but less than a minute later, at 3:39 Shane Sherban restored a one goal lead for the Terriers.
At 6:03 McKenzie Welke added an insurance marker for the Terriers to round out the 6-3 win.
Jakob Severson faced 32-shots in recording the win in the Terrier net, while Alexi Thibaudeau took the loss in the Hounds net facing 40-shots.
