It鈥檚 been a busy week for the Yorkton RawTec Maulers as they wrapped up their regular season in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.

The final week kicked off on Wednesday, Feb. 15 when they hosted the Notre Dame Argos at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

It was a game where the Maulers dominated on the shot clock, but had trouble connecting with the back of the net. The end of the second period ended with a score of 3-2 for the Argos.

But in the third, the Maulers came out on the ice, cool and collected, and did what they needed to do.

In the end, the shot clock read 49-14, and the scoreboard was 6-3, both in favour of the Maulers.

Maulers鈥 goals were scored by Kaedan Korczak (2), Derrick Budz, Aiden Bulych, Trey Bear and Keenan Sperling.

After the game, RawTec Maulers head coach Kevin Rawlick said he knew it wasn鈥檛 a matter of 鈥榠f鈥 during that game, but 鈥榳hen鈥 his players would strike.

鈥淲e faced adversity in that second period, and it was really good to see the guys have that confidence where they just came back in the third.鈥 said Rawlick.

He said that the mantra this season has been focus on the process, and that鈥檚 what they鈥檙e doing instead of focusing on the end.

鈥淲hen they have 49 or 50 shots, they鈥檙e doing things the right way. They鈥檙e treating each other as teammates, they鈥檙e working the right way, they鈥檙e playing from the systems 鈥 they鈥檙e doing everything right,鈥 said Rawlick.

From there, the Maulers hit the road for two games on the road during the weekend. They came away with a win and a loss.

On Saturday, Feb. 18 they faced the Prince Albert Mintos. It was a close game that ended 3-2 for the Mintos, who scored the winning goal in the third period.

Kaleb Bulych and MacKenzie Walkington scored for the Maulers in the first period.

On Sunday, the Maulers faced the Saskatoon Blazers and took the win 7-2.

It was a big game for Mauler Zach McIntyre, who racked up four points from two goals and two assists.

Other goals came from Kaedan Korczak, MacKenzie Walkington, Ryder Pierson and two from Kishuan Gervais in the third period.

The last game of the regular season was played on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Farrell Agencies Arena, but the score was not available at the time of print.

The result of that final game will put the Maulers in either sixth or seventh place in the league standings, both of which give them a spot in the playoffs.
