Kelly Procyshen's ninth annual P.F.H. floor hockey tournament at the Gloria Hayden Centre last weekend on January 19 was a success.

"It was a good competitive tournament," said Procyshen. "No one got seriously injured and everyone had a lot of fun."

The invitation-only four-team tournament saw great toe-to-toe action throughout the day.

"It is an invite only tournament because I want guys to play in it with hockey experience that want to play competitively," said Procyshen.

Procyshen picked four team captains who took turns picking their players in a draft to make up their squads.

Mack Unyi's club took the tournament with a 3-2 record. They edged Jeff Langon's squad, who had a 4-2 record throughout the tourney, 5-2 in the championship game.

Dallas Bond's team finished third with a 1-3 record, followed by Mike Rousin's team with a 2-3 showing.

With this year all wrapped up, Procyshen now has his sights set on next year, which would be the 10th consecutive year for the floor hockey tourney.

"I definitely want to make it 10 in a row," he said. "It is a lot of fun and it something to look forward to in the cold winter."
