Chiefs top early Proline pick to win third straight Super Bowl title

There's no shortage of Proline bettors who see the Kansas City Chiefs winning a third straight Super Bowl title. According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., the Chiefs are the clear favourites to win yet another NFL title.

There's no shortage of Proline bettors who see the Kansas City Chiefs winning a third straight Super Bowl title.

According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., the Chiefs are the clear favourites to win yet another NFL title. Kansas City is the top Super Bowl favourite with 24 per cent of bettors picking the defending league champions to emerge victorious in 2024.

The San Francisco 49ers, who lost 25-22 to the Chiefs in last year's Super Bowl, are the second favourites (16 per cent), followed by the Detroit Lions (11 per cent), Baltimore Ravens (eight per cent) and Buffalo Bills (seven per cent).

Interestingly, though, Baltimore is the AFC championship favourite at 24 per cent, ahead of Kansas City (17 per cent). The New York Jets (14 per cent), Pittsburgh Steelers (13 per cent) and Cincinnati Bengals (nine per cent) round out the top five.

San Francisco is the prohibitive favourite to win the NFC championship (50 per cent) ahead of Detroit (30 per cent). The Philadelphia Eagles (six per cent), Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears (both at three per cent) are the other top-five picks.

Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud is the early favourite for the regular-season MVP award (25 per cent). He was the NFL's top offensive rookie last season after passing for 4,108 yards with 23 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

Green Bay's Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets (both 12 per cent), Buffalo's Josh Allen (nine per cent) and Detroit's Jared Goff (eight per cent) also received consideration.

The Paris Summer Games are in full swing and the Canadian men's basketball team is 2-0 following wins over Greece and Australia. A whopping 80 per cent of Proline bettors had Canada downing Greece while 23 per cent had the Greeks +7.5 points.

On Sunday, the Toronto Blue Jays downed the Texas Rangers 7-3 to complete a series sweep. Only 42 per cent of bettors had Toronto winning the game but 89 per cent took the total over 8.5 runs.

Meanwhile in CFL action, the Ottawa Redblacks defeated the Calgary Stampeders 33-6 on Friday night to improve to 4-0 at TD Place. Fifty-six per cent of bettors picked Ottawa +1.5 but just 24 per cent took the total under 48.5 points.

The Toronto Argonauts nipped the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 16-14 in overtime Saturday night. Sixty-six per cent picked the Argos -1.5 however just 27 per cent had the total under 49.5 points.

On Sunday night, Bo Levi Mitchell threw five touchdown passes to lead Hamilton past Edmonton 44-28. The win was the Tiger-Cats' second straight while the Elks fell to 0-7 on the season.

A solid 77 per cent of bettors had Hamilton +3.5 with 68 per cent taking the total over 51.5 points.

A Proline digital bettor turned a $30 wager into a $9,967 payout by correctly selecting a nine-pick parlay involving CFL and baseball contests. A retail customer won $2,302 on a $20 bet on an eight-pick baseball parlay.
