REGINA — The Amazing Race Canada touched down in Regina Wednesday to film for the 10th season of the Canadian travel adventure contest. The crew started filming in British Columbia on April 23.
This morning the crew was at Regina’s Mosaic stadium, for a football-themed challenge – crowd noise seemed to be pumped into the stadium. Security was reluctant to comment. No one was talking much about exactly what was happening – as at this stage of production everything is a carefully guarded secret.
An armada of taxis parked outside of the stadium was ready to take the contestants to Kreos Air – where they then loaded onto private planes.
Contestants and crew alike remained tight-lipped, maintaining the intrigue around filming. One Co-op Taxi driver spoke under the condition of anonymity.
“It was great having the crew in my car. They are very nice people!”
When asked if he could give much detail on filming – he declined – stating that they had tipped him well.
Another driver divulged that one challenge had taken place at the Hotel Saskatchewan – finishing at Mosaic Stadium. From there they were set to fly off to Russell, Man.
One taxi after another arrived at Kreos Air – some elated and celebratory. One team however tearfully embraced in a hug – seemingly eliminated from the competition.
Season 10 of The Amazing Race is set to air on CTV this July.
